Palm Beach, Florida, 1977 / Perrine, Florida, 1977 / Chimayo, New Mexico, 1972 / by America Surfaces, Stephen Shore

An old classic of the American cooking tradition and of the American photography one, tempting and gross at the same time.

We have found this simply perfect and “rough” image on the tumblr of  the Rochester based artist and collector Margaret Storms that perfectly represent the essence of this 5-letters-matter that we call BREAD…

Still bread, but also cheeses, beetroots, mushrooms. The French photographer and artist Erwan Frotin has realized these and more edible still lifes for a famous, London based, restaurant, Sketch.

To know more about Edwan visit his website, although we wasn’t able to see anything, but a Hypnotizing blue-violet screensaver.

The George Wash’s helmet bushing is legendary now.
For that reason the photographer

The Cholombianos are an ethnoscape that we didn’t know before.

But their greased sideburns, bangs and wisps are so crazy that they should deserve a entitled to a place of honor in our Beard, Hair and fur issue of Trust Me Magazine.

In other words, they are kids from Monterrey, Mexico, who would seem emo if not wearing tartan oversize plaid tank tops, baseball and / or Hawaiian shirts and not dancing the cumbia (Colombian traditional dance like Clog dance, but remixed version in speedy way).

The photographer Stefan Ruiz in the first episode of Picture Perfect (Post-see-below) has tried to document this subcultural phenomenon follows cholombianos guys among market stalls, clubs and a 7eleven shop(!)

thanks to Serena Pezzato, via Vice magazine and VBS.tv, which has introduced us to this nice dudes.

Picture Perfect is a new documentary series presented few days ago on VBS.tv.

During each episode a different photographer talks about his work, life, inspirations and open one of those “orange-kodak” cardboard boxes full of wonders that make all of us super-envious, in the second part of the video the staff of VBS followed him during a photoshooting.

The outline of each episode is apparently quite simple, but the selection of photographers is really exceptional.

The first episode talks about Stefan Ruiz, former art director of Colors magazine, that will be followed from New York to Monterrey, Mexico to document the Mexican cholombianos.

Next episodes: James Mollison (the one of “where the children sleep), Rob Honstra (one of “The Sochi project) and Donald Weber!

If you want to take perfect pictures in 4×5, in 120 or 35 mm or whatever you shouldn’t miss that video.

But even though you aren’t a photographer wannabe, you have finished your 72 minutes of megavideo streaming and you are plenty of time to waste, this episode is definetly worth. It takes about 20 minutes, but it’s somewhat like a dozen photography classes.
